Stores practice pieces, loops, tempo settings, and practice attempts locally on your device. It does not send practice content to Hobby Codex or third parties. The free version may show privacy-preserving sponsored app recommendations; Pro customers do not see them. Tempo Ladder is the new name for PracticeLoop.
QR Scanner
Unboxed
Uses the camera to scan QR codes and stores scan history locally on your device. It does not include analytics or advertising SDKs.
Hobby Rack App Data
Hobby Rack stores your paint rack, wish list, projects, substitutions, and app preferences locally on your device.
The app does not require an account, and it does not send your paint collection or project data to Hobby Codex servers.
Priming Conditions optionally uses a town you search for or a one-time location request to provide Apple Weather forecasts. An approximate saved location and cached forecast are kept on your device and shared with the Hobby Rack widget. Search and weather requests go to Apple; your location is not included in Hobby Rack analytics. The app does not track your location in the background, and you can remove the saved location in Priming Conditions.
Purchases
Hobby Rack Plus subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple handles payment information and subscription management.
The app checks your purchase entitlement so it can unlock Plus features. Hobby Codex does not receive your payment card details.
Analytics and Tracking
Hobby Rack uses TelemetryDeck for privacy-focused usage analytics and performance information to understand how the app is used, identify problems, and guide improvements.
You can turn optional analytics off in the app’s Settings. See TelemetryDeck’s privacy policy. This information is product usage data, such as whether a feature was used, whether a crash occurred, and which app version was running. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Hobby Rack does not send paint names, your paint collection, wish list contents, project names, project paint lists, photos, or other personal hobby data to Hobby Codex for analytics.
Sponsored App Recommendations
The free version of Hobby Rack may show privacy-preserving sponsored recommendations for other independent apps through Kickstart Exchange. Hobby Rack Plus customers do not see these recommendations.
Kickstart Exchange processes app-level integration details, App Store storefront country, advert impressions, and advert clicks for delivery, accounting, analytics, and app functionality. When available, it also processes an Apple-signed App Transaction transiently to verify a genuine install, then discards it.
Kickstart Exchange does not identify or track individual people or devices. Its Product Interaction and Advertising Data are not linked to your identity and are not used for tracking. App-level advert records are retained for approximately 30 days. Learn more in the Kickstart Exchange privacy notice.
Website
The Hobby Codex website links to App Store pages, support information, and policy documents. It does not require an account or collect app data such as your paint collection, practice data, or scan history.
Optional website measurement is off until you choose “Accept measurement”. If accepted, Cloudflare Web Analytics measures aggregate page views and performance, and an A/B test compares landing-page screenshots and App Store links. Refusing does not prevent you from using the site. You can change or withdraw your choice using “Privacy settings” in the footer. Withdrawing stops future optional measurement; it does not undo previously collected statistics.
Support Emails
If you email support, Mark Reid uses your email address, message, and any attachments to respond, investigate problems, and assess suggestions. The lawful basis is legitimate interests: providing support and improving the apps. Please avoid sending sensitive information or data that is not needed for your enquiry. Providing information is voluntary, but we may be unable to investigate without enough detail.
Support emails are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry, resolve the reported problem, or assess a suggested improvement. When personal information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it rather than retaining it indefinitely for a possible future feature. Support emails are stored in an original Hover Hosted Email mailbox supplied by Hover (Tucows). Email hosting and delivery are provided through Hover so that messages can be received, stored, and answered. See Hover’s privacy information.
Cookies and Browser Storage
The site uses local browser storage rather than setting its own cookies. It stores your privacy choice under hobbyCodex.privacy.v1 for up to 180 days to remember whether you accepted or rejected optional measurement. This preference is necessary to respect your choice and is not used for advertising.
Only after acceptance, hobbyRack.ab.hero-screenshot-v1 stores a screenshot variant for up to 30 days, or until you withdraw consent. The assignment is not a name or email address. Expired entries are removed when the site next runs. Clearing site data removes these preferences. If storage is blocked, the site continues to work and your choice applies to the current page only.
Cloudflare describes Web Analytics as cookieless. We nevertheless ask permission before loading its optional measurement script. It receives page and performance measurements through a network request. See Cloudflare Web Analytics and Cloudflare’s privacy policy. The lawful basis for optional measurement involving personal data is consent.
Fonts and App Store badge images are served from this website. Following an external link, including an App Store link, takes you to a service with its own privacy practices. Variant campaign labels may be included in App Store links after you accept measurement.
Your Privacy Rights
Mark Reid, operating as Hobby Codex, is the controller for personal information handled for website enquiries and support. Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict, or receive a portable copy of your personal information.
You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact hello@hobbycodex.com to exercise your rights. You can withdraw website measurement consent through “Privacy settings” at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). If you live in the EEA, you can also contact your local data protection authority.
Website Delivery and Service Providers
Delivering and protecting a website involves processing technical connection information such as IP addresses and requested URLs through hosting and network providers. This is separate from optional visitor measurement. Where we process personal information to deliver and secure this site, we rely on legitimate interests in operating a reliable, secure website.
Our email and website providers may process information outside the United Kingdom or EEA. You can contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
